Description
The Invesco DB Energy Fund endeavors to mirror the total return, positive or negative, of the DBIQ Optimum Yield Energy Index Excess Return. This objective is achieved by adding interest generated from its primary holdings in US Treasury securities and money market income, while subtracting fund expenses. It provides investors with an efficient and cost-effective method to engage in commodity futures markets. The underlying Index is a rules-based construct, comprising futures contracts for some of the world's most actively traded energy commodities, including West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil, heating oil, Brent crude oil, RBOB gasoline, and natural gas; direct investment in this Index is not feasible. The Fund and the Index undergo annual rebalancing and reconstitution during November. Due to the speculative characteristics of investing in highly volatile futures markets, this Fund is not appropriate for all investors. The rapid and substantial price fluctuations inherent in underlying futures contracts could result in significant losses. For a full understanding of risks, please review the "Risk and Other Information" section and the Prospectus. Details concerning IRS Section 1446(f) Rule qualified notices for Publicly Traded Partnerships (PTPs) and the Form 1065 Schedule K-3 FAQ for Invesco DB Funds (as per the Securities Act of 1933) can be found at the ETF tax center.
