Amplify ETF Trust - Amplify Municipal CEF High Income ETF (YYYM)

This passively managed exchange-traded fund (ETF) seeks to deliver substantial monthly income by investing in a concentrated portfolio of 30 U.S. municipal bond closed-end funds (CEFs). These underlying investments typically offer the advantage of being exempt from ordinary U.S. federal income taxes. Fund selection follows a systematic, index-based methodology involving a two-stage screening process. Criteria for inclusion assess factors such as a minimum asset base, sufficient trading volume, attractive yield compared to the wider market, their trading price relative to Net Asset Value (NAV) – specifically focusing on discounts – and an upper limit of 6% on the expense ratio. Subsequently, eligible CEFs are ranked according to a composite score, with the highest-scoring 30 selected for inclusion in the index. Each fund's proportional representation within the portfolio is dictated by its relative yield, while also adhering to specific diversification and liquidity safeguards. The investment approach strategically targets high-yielding CEFs trading at a discount to their NAV, prioritizing those with ample liquidity to mitigate transaction expenses across the portfolio. The index undergoes rebalancing and reconstitution on a semi-annual basis, occurring each January and July.
