Guinness Atkinson Alternative Energy Fund (GAAEX)

This fund primarily dedicates at least 80% of its total assets (including any capital obtained through borrowing for investment purposes) to publicly traded stocks of companies operating in the alternative energy industry. These investments cover both domestic U.S. firms and international entities. While the investment advisor retains the flexibility to invest across companies of all market capitalizations, it generally targets businesses with a minimum market valuation of $500 million under typical market conditions. The portfolio may also include companies with economic connections to the U.S. and various foreign countries, potentially extending to those based in or trading within emerging markets.
