The fund aims to generate significant capital growth over the long term, while diligently managing the risk to the initial investment. Typically, the portfolio commits a minimum of 80% of its total assets (which can include funds obtained through borrowing) to ownership stakes – specifically common and preferred shares – in smaller U.S. companies. The Advisor focuses on selecting these companies based on their assessment that the firms are undervalued. To qualify as a small-cap company, its market valuation at the time of acquisition must fall within the market capitalization range of any constituent stock of the Russell 2000® Index, as defined at its most recent rebalancing.
