Under typical market conditions, the fund commits at least 80% of its total net assets, including any funds borrowed for investment, to purchasing common and preferred shares of companies based in Asia. Matthews seeks out businesses that it believes are innovators in their products, services, operational procedures, business models, leadership, use of technology, or how they create, expand, and serve their target markets.
