This fund is designed to commit at least 80% of its total assets, including any borrowed capital, to large-capitalization U.S. company stocks and derivative instruments that possess similar economic traits. The portfolio manager's main approach involves investing in a range of equity-linked securities, such as common shares, preferred stock, and convertible bonds, or other financial instruments that are components of or exhibit characteristics comparable to those found in the Russell 1000 Value Index.
