The fund's primary objective is to replicate the performance of the Guggenheim Directional Allocation IndexSM, before factoring in its own operating costs. To achieve this, the fund commits at least 80% of its net assets – including any capital borrowed for investment purposes – to various financial instruments like securities, cash, or cash equivalents, strictly in line with the index's prescribed weighting. The underlying index itself is designed to generate superior long-term, risk-adjusted returns compared to the broader U.S. stock markets. Its strategy is twofold: to enhance profits during periods of market growth and to significantly reduce potential losses during downturns, a protective measure that can include allocating up to 100% of its assets into cash.
